Unitronic® is proud to introduce its all-new 4” Turbo Inlet Elbow for the 8Y RS3® equipped with the 2.5TFSI® (DXH) engine found in North America. Featuring high-quality cast aluminum construction and premium supporting hardware, this 4-inch Turbo Inlet Elbow reduces turbulence and pressure drop while delivering maximum airflow to the turbocharger. The result is quicker spool, improved throttle response, and greater power potential—making it a must-have upgrade for tuned vehicles.
As with all of its performance products, Unitronic uses the latest industry-leading tools, equipment, and computer-aided design (CAD) software to maximize airflow and performance of its new products. This advanced approach not only helps improve overall flow and velocity, but it also helps eliminate the restrictions found in factory components, all while ensuring Unitronic products fit seamlessly within the tight packaging of the engine bay.
Drawing from extensive experience with previous 2.5TFSI EVO applications, Unitronic’s team of Mechanical Engineers took a meticulous approach in designing this new Turbo Inlet Elbow specifically for the DXH-equipped 8Y RS3. Every detail was carefully considered to ensure seamless integration and reliable performance, all while retaining full compatibility with the factory PCV system and related components. This OEM+ mindset ensures that enthusiasts benefit from enhanced performance without sacrificing functionality or long-term reliability.
Leveraging that foundation, Unitronic engineered this new 4” Turbo Inlet Elbow for the 8Y RS3 to deliver significantly improved airflow across a variety of conditions. In controlled testing, the factory inlet peaked at 581 CFM at 28” of H₂O, whereas Unitronic’s 4” design reached an impressive 744 CFM — representing a 28% gain over the OEM unit.
Through the elimination of upstream (pre-compressor) restrictions, Unitronic’s new 4” Turbo Inlet Elbow for the 8Y RS3 improves the efficiency of the factory Borg-Warner turbocharger and is compatible with mainstream stock frame hybrid turbochargers, including The Turbo Engineers TTE700 and TTE777, through it’s versatile, precisely CNC-machined billet aluminum compressor inlet adapters. Compatibility will also available for the Xona 750HS / XR770 via Unitronic PN: UH061-INA. (coming soon)
For maximum performance and airflow efficiency, pair the 4” Turbo Inlet Elbow with Unitronic’s 4” Carbon Fiber Intake System or 4” Forged Carbon Fiber Intake System. Both intake options are engineered to seamlessly integrate with the new Turbo Inlet Elbow, providing a complete high-flow solution that reduces restrictions and supports increased boost levels.
